Dany Nassif

BIRDS Conseil
Co-Dirigeant & Executive Coach
Who are you?
I'm the engineer turned coach, who believes firmly in the richness of systems and teams, the creativity of human beings and the power of focusing on your strengths and talents !
The days of SW development back in the early 90s when we first experienced 'Incremental development' in waterfall models sounds like prehistory... But gosh was it fun !
Lebanese born, US studies, French national, I love intercultural and international environments.
The richness of diversity!

What do you do for a living?
I co-own a coaching and consulting company : BIRDS Coaching and Trainng, We work with management levels at different sized companies in all sectors.
I'm also a faculty member @ CRR Global leading courses in the ORSC (Organisation & Relationship Systems Coaching) program ! Join us!

What are you going to talk about at FlowCon?
Deep Democracy, a concept and a tool -from Arnold Mindell's Process Work- that helps facilitate the expression of voices and positions in systems. Even the most marginalised one.... A key tool to use in times of change, conflicts or when working with hot topics!

What are you the proudest of?
You asked "What", so I wont say "My two girls!" ... So I'll go for changing careers and going into a line of work that has an impact, for making this place a (slightly) better one!

What speaker and/or topic would you like to see at FlowCon?
I'd love to talk and exchange views around how to bring in more systems work into the SW developments processes. Catering for individuals and teams!

If you were an art piece, which one would it be?
A painting from Miro... Simple and impactful...

What's your favorite band, artist or song?
U2 & The Cure are up there on the top of the list!

Sum up your session or workshop in only 1 sentence
Rely on Deep Democracy to listen and capture ALL voices in a system.. even the most marginalized ones

What are the 3 top takeaways from your session or workshop?
- Capturing and listening to all the voices in a system can be scary.. but it's needed!
- Bias, time pressure, social pressure.... all encourage the expression of mainstream voices.
- The Deep Decmocracy tool from ORSC gives you a simple way to hear all the voices and experiences in a system..
